Want to hear from alumni how their liberal arts degree turned into a cool job and career that they find meaningful and enjoyable? On this Kai trip meet with several alumni at various stages in their careers and bond with fellow student participants on what is sure to be an amazing trip. People of all career interests, not just tech, are encouraged to apply.

Immersive and Intense

The Kai trip to NYC will be a four day immersion experience into the Wesleyan run media and tech industry. The trip will be occurring during Fall Break (October 23rd to 27th).  Participants are required to go to all events and be together during the downtime. Alumni and friends of Wesleyan will be showing their office spaces and sharing about their work and career paths. The cohort accepted into the trip will have a chance to get to know these alumni and each other in ways not possible during the busy school year.

Provided Housing and Subway Passes

Housing

We cover all housing costs, and all participants will be required to be housed together for the duration of the trip—no exceptions.  Important conversations and events happen during the downtime. During previous trips we used the time to brainstorm ideas, write the reflection posts, and bond.

Subway Passes

During the trip we will be covering travel costs. MTA unlimited subway passes will be provided for the trip participants. However, we are not covering the costs of getting to NYC, and you may find your own transportation to the city if you have it. Otherwise, the Wesleyan Fall Break Shuttle costs $15 dollars each way or the Metro North Train is about $30 roundtrip (off-peak).

Itinerary

A detailed itinerary will be released mid-August with updates until mid-September. A finalized itinerary will be posted 7 days before the trip but is subject to change.  To see the itinerary of previous trips go here.
